Concrete Repair and Resurfacing in Uxbridge, Ontario
We repair cracked, sunken and worn concrete in Uxbridge: crack injection, slab lifting, resurfacing, step rebuilds and sealing. The work splits between older homes in the village core and the hamlets, where steps and walks have settled, and long rural driveways and shop slabs out on the concessions. We find the cause before we quote the fix, and we say so plainly when replacement is the better spend. The quote is free and written, and the labour carries our lifetime warranty.

Uxbridge has two kinds of damaged concrete. In the heritage streets of the village and in hamlets such as Goodwood, Sandford and Leaskdale, the calls are about steps that have settled, walks heaved out of line and parging that has let go. On the big rural lots out on the concessions, the calls are about long driveways, turnarounds and farm or shop slabs that have worn or cracked.
Most of that concrete does not need to come out. A crack can be injected, a sunken slab lifted back to grade, a worn surface ground and resurfaced, and a broken step formed and re-poured. The full method for each is on our concrete repair and resurfacing page. This page covers what Uxbridge's ground and homes change about the job.
Why concrete settles on the Oak Ridges Moraine
Uxbridge sits on the Oak Ridges Moraine, glacial sand and gravel that drains fast. Water moves down through it instead of sitting on top, so a slab sees less frost heave here than on the clay flats by the lake. The sand has its own risk: on a sloped lot it can wash out from under an open edge, and the slab settles.
So an Uxbridge repair starts underneath. A sunken slab can often be lifted back to grade, but only once we know why the base moved. Lifting a slab over a base that is still washing out does not fix the cause, so the quote names the cause as well as the fix.
Long rural driveways, turnarounds and shop slabs
Long approach driveways, farm lanes and shop slabs carry salt, meltwater and heavy loads, and the open edges of a sandy shoulder are where washout can start. Repair often means injecting the cracks, lifting the low panels and replacing only the panels that are past saving, instead of tearing out the whole drive.
Grade and water flow decide how long a repair lasts. We read how meltwater and runoff leave the surface before we quote, because a patch that leaves water sitting on the slab fails again. When the whole run is past repair, a new pour is the honest answer, and our concrete driveways in Uxbridge page covers it.
Steps, walks and parging on older village homes
Plenty of homes in the village core and the hamlets are decades old. Settled front steps, heaved walks and flaking parging are the repairs older homes here call for. Steps can often be levelled, or the broken treads and edges formed and re-poured with air-entrained 32 MPa mix, instead of a full tear-out. A worn but sound surface can be ground back and given a bonded overlay.
A bright new patch shows beside old work, so we colour-match as close as cured concrete allows. Uxbridge is in north Durham, well off our home routes, so we group jobs into planned trips and give you real dates. Small repairs ride along on the same trips as the big pours.
Straight answers
Should I repair or replace the cracked concrete at my Uxbridge home?
It depends on the damage and the base under it. We find the cause before we quote the fix, and we say so plainly when replacement is the better spend. The free written quote says which one your concrete needs, and why.
Can you lift a sunken walk or driveway panel in Uxbridge instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. We pump material through small holes drilled in the slab to fill the void under it and float it back to grade. Mudjacking uses a sand-and-cement slurry and wants 24 to 48 hours before traffic; polyurethane foam takes traffic the same day. On moraine sand we first find out why the base moved, so the slab does not sink again.
Do you repair long rural driveways out on the concessions?
Yes. We come out, walk the run, check the grade and where the water goes, and give you a written quote. Often the fix is injecting the cracks, lifting the low panels and replacing only the panels that are past saving. We group Uxbridge jobs into planned trips and give you real dates.
How much does concrete repair cost in Uxbridge?
There is no honest flat rate. The cost moves with the size of the area, the base and soil, access, how severe the damage is and the season. The visit and the written quote are free, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice unless you change the job.
