Concrete Repair and Resurfacing in Caledon
We repair cracked, sunken and worn concrete in Caledon: crack injection, slab lifting, resurfacing, step rebuilds and sealing. The work comes from Bolton driveways and walks, steps on older village homes, and farm and shop pads out on the concession roads. We find the cause before we quote the fix, and we tell you plainly when a repair will not hold and replacement is the better spend. The quote is free and written, you get a reply within one business day, and the labour carries our lifetime warranty. Caledon books into planned trips with firm dates.

Caledon is mostly rural, and its older concrete is spread out: front steps on village homes, walks and driveways in Bolton, and slabs beside farmhouses and barns. All of it has been through Ontario winters and road salt, and much of it does not need to come out.
A crack can be injected, a sunken slab lifted back to grade, a worn surface ground and resurfaced, and a broken step formed and re-poured. The full method for each is on our concrete repair and resurfacing page. This page is about what Caledon's ground and layout change about the job.
Moraine sand or wet clay: the ground decides the repair
Caledon sits where the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges Moraine meet. The moraine is a deep mix of sand and gravel that drains fast. Lower down, near the creeks and river flats, the ground is often heavy clay that holds water.
On clay and wet low ground, frost gets under a thin base and lifts a slab, so a walk or step that heaves each winter and settles each spring opens cracks. On moraine sand, the base can wash out or shift under the concrete. So a Caledon repair starts underneath: we check the base, the grade and where the water goes before we quote. A crack filled over a slab that is still moving opens again by spring.
Steps, walks and parging on older village and farm homes
Older village homes and farmhouses need steps that have settled, parging that has crumbled, and walks that have cracked. Spalled treads and broken edges are formed and re-poured with air-entrained 32 MPa mix. A worn surface on a sound step or walk can be ground back and given a bonded overlay instead of a tear-out.
A sunken slab can often be lifted instead of replaced. We pump material through small holes drilled in the slab to fill the void under it and float it back to grade, after we find out why the base washed out so it does not sink again.
Farm and shop pads, and when to replace
Pads for barns, shops and detached garages carry tractors, trucks and stock, so a cracked pad is a loads question as well as a surface one. We confirm the use and how vehicles get on and off before we say whether to repair it or pour new.
When the slab has cracked all over, the base has failed across the whole area, or the surface has scaled too deep to bond to, replacement is the better spend, and the quote says so. Basement walls that leak every spring are a different job; see our basement waterproofing work.
Straight answers
Should I repair or replace the cracked concrete at my Caledon property?
It depends on the base. Repair wins when the damage is local and the base under it is still sound: one or two cracks, a slab that settled on one side, surface pitting or a broken step edge. Replacement wins when the slab has cracked all over, the base has failed across the whole area, or the surface has scaled so deep there is nothing sound to bond to. The written quote says which side of that line your concrete is on, and why.
Can you lift a sunken walk or slab instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. We pump material through small holes drilled in the slab to fill the void under it and float it back to grade. Mudjacking uses a sand-and-cement slurry and wants a day or two before traffic; polyurethane foam uses smaller holes and takes traffic the same day. Before we lift, we find out why the base washed out, so the slab does not sink again.
How much does concrete repair cost in Caledon?
There is no honest flat rate. The cost moves with the size of the area, how far the damage goes, the condition of the base, the repair method, access and the season. The visit and the written quote are free, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice unless you change the job.
Do you travel to Caledon for small repairs?
Yes. Caledon is a long drive from our home routes, so jobs here book into planned trips with firm dates, not a same-day truck. Small repairs are welcome and are booked into those trips.
