Concrete Repair and Resurfacing in Oakville, Ontario
We repair cracked, sunken and worn concrete on Oakville homes: crack injection, slab lifting, resurfacing, step rebuilds and sealing. Most of that work comes from the established streets of Old Oakville, Bronte, Glen Abbey, River Oaks and Joshua Creek, where driveways, walks and steps are decades into their life. We find the cause before we quote the fix, and we tell you plainly when a repair will not hold and replacement is the better spend. The quote is free and written, you get a reply within one business day, and the labour carries our lifetime warranty.

Oakville sends us two kinds of work. The new streets north of Dundas order first pours. The established south, from the lakeshore to Glen Abbey, sends the repair list: settled steps, cracked walks and driveways that have reached the end of their service life.
Much of that older concrete does not need to come out. A crack can be injected, a sunken slab lifted back to grade, a worn surface ground and resurfaced, and a broken step formed and re-poured. The full method for each is on our concrete repair and resurfacing page. This page is about what Oakville's clay, creeks and older homes change about the job.
Why Oakville concrete cracks and settles
Most of Oakville sits on Halton till, a silty clay over soft shale. The clay swells when it is soaked, lifts when frost reaches under a shallow base, and drains slowly. A walk or slab on a thin base moves with it every winter and spring, and cracks open along the way.
Sixteen Mile Creek and Bronte Creek cut down through the town to the lake, and the low ground near them holds more water in spring. Road salt and the freeze-thaw swing off the lake work on the surface from the top down. So an Oakville repair starts underneath: we check the base, the grade and where the downspouts send their water before we quote. A crack filled over a slab that is still moving opens again by spring.
Repair that suits the house
Oakville owners expect a finish that suits the house, and a patch that stands out on a front walk does not. A worn surface on a sound slab can be ground back and given a bonded overlay instead of a tear-out. Spalled step treads and broken edges are formed and re-poured with air-entrained 32 MPa mix, colour-matched as close as cured concrete allows.
When a driveway or walk has cracked all over or its base has failed across the whole area, an overlay will not save it. Then we quote the replacement straight, and a new Oakville driveway is built on a compacted base for the clay.
When a crack is a basement question
A crack in a walk or a garage slab is a repair job. A basement wall that takes on water every spring, common on the low streets near the creeks, is a different question.

Straight answers
Should I repair or replace the cracked concrete at my Oakville home?
It depends on the base. Repair wins when the damage is local and the base under it is still sound: one or two cracks, a slab that settled on one side, surface pitting or a broken step edge. Replacement wins when the slab has cracked all over, the base has failed across the whole area, or the surface has scaled so deep there is nothing sound to bond to. The written quote says which side of that line your concrete is on, and why.
Can you lift a sunken walk or slab instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. We pump material under the slab to fill the void and float it back to grade. Mudjacking uses a slurry and wants 24 to 48 hours before traffic; polyurethane foam takes traffic the same day. Before we lift, we find out why the base washed out, so the slab does not sink again.
How much does concrete repair cost in Oakville?
There is no honest flat rate. The cost moves with the size of the area, how far the damage goes, the condition of the base and soil, access and the season. The visit and the written quote are free, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice unless you change the job.
Do you take a small Oakville repair, like one step or a crack?
We do. Step rebuilds, a section of walkway and crack repairs ride along on the same Halton routes as full driveways. Small work still gets a written quote up front and carries the same lifetime labour warranty as a complete pour.
