Concrete Repair and Resurfacing in Binbrook, Ontario
We repair cracked, sunken and worn concrete in Binbrook: crack injection, slab lifting, resurfacing, step rebuilds and sealing. Binbrook sits on a flat, slow-draining clay plain, and its newer lots were built on former farm fields where the fill beside the foundation keeps settling. Both can move a slab. We look for the cause before quoting the fix. The quote is free and written, you get a reply within one business day, and the labour carries our lifetime warranty.

Binbrook has two kinds of damaged concrete. In the newer surveys, patios, walks and driveways that are only a few years old have settled, tipped or cracked as the ground around the house kept moving. In the older village and on the farms around it, the concrete has simply been through many winters.
Most of it does not need to come out. A crack can be injected, a sunken slab lifted back to grade, a worn surface ground and resurfaced, and a broken step formed and re-poured. The full method for each is on our concrete repair and resurfacing page. This page is about what Binbrook's ground and homes change about the job.
Clay that holds water under the slab
The plain that runs south from the escarpment toward Haldimand is tight, slow-draining clay. Snowmelt and spring rain do not fall away, they sit in the soil. Water trapped under a slab freezes, expands and lifts it, and when it thaws the slab can settle unevenly and open cracks.
So a Binbrook repair starts with the cause. The base, the grade and where the downspouts send their water all matter, because a crack filled over a slab that is still moving can reopen, and a slab lifted over a washed-out base can sink again.
Newer lots on settling fill
The newer surveys went in on old farm fields. The soil is disturbed, and the backfill along each foundation keeps settling for a season or two after a house closes. A patio or walk poured against that fill can tip toward the house or drop at one edge.
If the slab is sound and only one side has sunk, we can often lift it back to grade by pumping material through small drilled holes to fill the void. Mudjacking uses a sand-and-cement slurry and wants a day or two before traffic. Polyurethane foam uses smaller holes and takes traffic the same day. A lift is only as good as the ground and water behind it, so the cause matters.
Older village concrete and farm pads
The original village around the fairgrounds and the farms beyond it carry the older concrete. Salt and freeze-thaw work on steps and walks from the top down. Spalled treads and broken edges are formed and re-poured with air-entrained 32 MPa mix. A worn surface on a sound slab can be ground back and given a bonded overlay instead of a tear-out.
An overlay only works on a slab that is stable underneath. If the base has failed across the whole area, we say so at the visit and quote the replacement straight.
When a crack is a foundation question
A crack in a walk or a garage slab is a repair job. A crack in a basement wall that leaks every spring, or one that keeps growing, is a different question. For those, see our foundation repair and basement waterproofing in Binbrook work. We sort out which job your house needs at the free visit.
Straight answers
Our Binbrook patio has sunk and tipped toward the house. Can it be fixed?
Often, yes. On the newer lots the fill beside the foundation settles for a season or two after the house closes, and a slab poured against it can drop. If the slab itself is sound, we can lift it back to grade by filling the void under it.
Should I repair or replace cracked concrete at my Binbrook home?
It depends on the base. Repair wins when the damage is local and the base under it is still sound: one or two cracks, a slab that settled on one side, surface pitting or a broken step edge. Replacement wins when the slab has cracked all over, the base has failed across the whole area, or the surface has scaled so deep there is nothing sound to bond to. The free written quote sets out the options for your concrete.
How much does concrete repair cost in Binbrook?
There is no honest flat rate. The cost moves with the size of the area, how far the damage goes, the condition of the base, the repair method, access and the season. The visit and the written quote are free, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice unless you change the job.
Can you repair a farm shop floor or equipment pad near Binbrook?
Yes. We look at why the slab cracked or sank first, usually the base or the water under it, then quote the repair or the replacement. The quote is free and written, and the labour carries our lifetime warranty.
