Concrete Patios in East Gwillimbury
My Concrete Pros pours concrete patios, gazebo slabs and pool decks across East Gwillimbury. On the new streets in Sharon, Queensville and Holland Landing, the job is a first patio on fill that may still be settling, so we check the ground before we pour. Near the Holland River and the marsh lowlands, the job is a deeper, well-drained base on soft, wet ground. Quotes are free and written, and the labour carries a lifetime warranty.

East Gwillimbury is four old villages, Holland Landing, Sharon, Queensville and Mount Albert, with new subdivisions filling the land between them. See our East Gwillimbury page for everything else we do in town.
A patio is a drainage job that is also a nice place to sit. We slope the slab about 2 percent away from the house, use 32 MPa air-entrained concrete for the freeze-thaw winters, and put it on a compacted granular base. The full method is on our concrete patios page. This page covers what East Gwillimbury ground changes about that job.
New lots: let the fill settle first
Much of the new building in Sharon, Queensville and Holland Landing sits on land that was a field or a farm a short time ago. The lot is now graded fill, and fresh fill keeps settling for a season or two after the builder leaves. A patio poured too soon can drop unevenly and tip toward the house.
So on a new lot, we usually tell you to wait through the first full year, then we check the compaction before we dig the base. Ask for the quote early anyway: it gets you a better place in the season.
Near the river and the marsh: a base that drains
The town sits along the East Holland River, and the land falls to the west into the Holland Marsh lowlands. Near the river and the marsh edge, the soil is soft and organic and the water table is close to the surface. Water stays where it should drain, and frost goes deep under a slab. A patio on that ground without a proper compacted base cracks and tilts within a few winters.
On a lot like that, we dig the base deeper, compact it, and slope the patio so water leaves the house and the slab. South of town, on the sandier Oak Ridges Moraine ground, water drains better, so we look more at grading and washout than at heave. If a basement wall already lets water in, we tell you before the patio goes in beside it, and we can look at basement waterproofing first.
Gazebos, pool decks and planned trips
A pad that carries a gazebo is not ordinary patio space. Bring the gazebo plan to the site visit, and we plan the base, the reinforcement and the anchors for that structure. We quote the patio and the pad as one job.
East Gwillimbury is at the north end of York Region, a long way from our home routes. We book patios here into planned trips north and give you real dates, not a same-day truck. We reply to every request within one business day.
Straight answers
We just moved into a new home in Sharon. When can we pour a patio?
Usually after the first full year. The ground under a new East Gwillimbury lot is graded fill that keeps settling for a season or two, and a patio poured on it too soon can drop and tip toward the house. We check the compaction on the site visit and tell you if the lot is ready.
Our yard is near the Holland River. Can we still have a concrete patio?
Yes. The ground near the river and the marsh is soft and wet, and frost goes deep, so the base needs care. We dig it deeper, compact it, and slope the patio about 2 percent away from the house so water does not collect against the wall or under the slab.
How much does a concrete patio cost in East Gwillimbury?
The size, the finish, the base your ground needs and how easily the truck can reach the backyard set the price. A wet lot near the marsh is a different dig from a settled lot in Mount Albert. We do not post a flat number. You get a free written quote after a site visit, and the number on the quote holds unless you change the job.
Can you pour a pad for a gazebo?
Yes. Bring the gazebo plan to the visit. We plan the base, reinforcement and anchors for that structure before the pour, and quote the patio and the pad together.
